Quality Control
All products manufactured by PTE conform to ISO 2859.
Inspection level S4, AQL 0.65
All chemicals used to construct our devices are subject to internal quality control as
well as testing of finished items. We maintain an on-site testing laboratory employing 1/3
million dollars in state of the art testing machinery, housed in a climate controlled
dedicated laboratory. The following is a list of some of our equipment.
Thermo Jarrell Ash 61E - Inductively coupled argon plasma
spectrometer.
Used to assay all metallic based oxidizers and metal fuels to an accuracy of
parts per billion.
Nicolet Avatar 360 - FT-IR Spectrometer system.
Used to assay all raw materials used in the manufacture of our product against
a known, good standard to guard against sub-standard supplies from vendors.
Perkin Elmer 1800/Spectra Tech IR Plan - Fourier transform
microscope.
Capable of testing and identifying single particles as small as 1 micron in
diameter. We have extensive chemical identification libraries, including: Commercial
materials library (213), Toronto forensic library, Aldritch high resolution condensed
phase library(10607) . This unit is used to assay all finished materials against a known
good standard, to guard against incorrect mixtures or mixes that degrade upon processing.
Also used to assay Mg/Al metal fuel particulate.
Nicolet 360/Harrick 8 meter gas cell - Fourier transform infrared
spectrometer.
Capable of testing and identifying gaseous and/or airborne elements and
compounds to a resolution of parts per million. Used to assay combustion gases and refine
formulations in an attempt to reduce emissions.
Ocean Optics - S2000 visable spectrum optical bench.
Capable of testing light given off by any source. Used to determine the proper
chemical combinations for the best color spectrum in stars and flares.
Infrared focused flash point determination cabinet.
Used to determine flash point of all finished explosive materials.
Environmental chamber.
Used to simulate effects of harsh storage and its effects on the function of
finished explosive materials.
Drop hammer.
Used to determine impact sensitivity of all finished explosive materials.
As you can see we spare no expense to achieve and maintain a high
standard of repeatable, reliable quality.
